Dark Chocolate Orange Cookies from Crunchy Creamy Sweet!


Dark Chocolate Orange Cookies - soft and chewy cookies packed with citrus and chocolate!
Ingredients
  1. 1/2 c unsalted butter, softened
  2. 3/4 c packed light or dark brown sugar
  3. 1/4 c granulated (white) sugar
  4. 1 large egg, room temperature
  5. 1 tsp vanilla
  6. 2 c all-purpose flour
  7. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  8. 1/2 tsp salt
  9. 2 tsp cornstarch
  10. zest from half of orange
  11. 4oz. dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped (I used Hershey's Special Dark)
Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter for 30 seconds until creamy.
  2. Add both sugars and beat for 3 minutes, until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla and mix until incorporated.
  4. In another large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, soda, salt and cornstarch.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until almost incorporated.
  6. Add zest and chocolate and mix until the flour is well mixed.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  8. Scoop the dough into 1,5 Tbsp size mounds onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
  9. If the cookies spread too much, chill the dough for 1 hour to 24 hours.
  10. Bake 10 to 11 minutes.
  11. Cool 1 minute on the sheet, then transfer onto a cooling rack.
